All residents of the Northwest Territories (NWT) have an important role to play in protecting and recovering species at risk for today and for future generations.

The Species at Risk Stewardship Program provides funding for projects that support the long-term protection and recovery of species that are at risk or of concern in the NWT.

Please submit your completed application form if you have an idea for a project that:

  • Improves the well-being of species of concern; or

  • Takes protective measures for species; habitats or ecosystems; or

  • Encourages involvement in stewardship activities through outreach, education and awareness-building; or

  • Increases stewardship-related knowledge and skills of landowners or other groups.

Your project could receive up to $5,000 in funding from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources!
